Lessons & training

Lessons, clinics and away shows

For the complete beginner, the rider coming back after years off, and the competition rider who wants a season plan rather than a lesson.

At the yard

Riding lessons

Group and private lessons with an experienced, qualified show jumping instructor, on well-schooled, well-loved, fit and happy horses.

Ride one of the yard’s horses or bring your own. Lessons suit the complete beginner, the everyday hacker, the rider returning after a long break, and the novice or intermediate rider working towards competition.

Beyond the weekly lesson

Private owners, equestrian establishments and riding clubs hire Nikki for a half or full day. Visits are tailored to you and your horse, or run as a basic training programme.

Tuition and consultancy

Single or multiple sessions, shaped around what you and the horse need next.

  • Riding position, style and fitness of the rider
  • Pace and rhythm
  • Speed and fitness of your own horse
  • Lunging, and why balance matters
  • A mock dressage test showing what judges look for
  • Jumping — walking the course, warming up, ring craft
  • Which tack suits the course, the horse and the rider
